Takao Hiwasaki Gallery of the Reader Collection of Japanese Flower-and-Bird Art

Takao made his art using the difficult technique of wood engraving. More than ten of his prints included flowers and (or) birds. Fifteen examples are shown below. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Takao’s drawing style was very creative and most of his flower and bird subjects are unrecognizable. This bizarre art may not appeal to all viewers.
